In addition to ensuring proper functionality of your mouth, we are also concerned with helping you to maintain a beautiful, confident smile. At Keith A. Boenning, DDS, dentistry is more than just form; it is also an art.

Restoring Damaged Teeth

Tooth damage can happen for many different reasons. You can suffer damage due to a fall, a sports-related injury, or a car accident. Even if the damage seems minor, it is important that you seek dental treatment right away. Tooth damage can worsen over time without treatment, compromising the structural integrity of the affected teeth. Damage that affects the inner layers of your teeth can let bacteria travel inside, where they can cause a painful tooth infection. In addition to compromising the strength of your teeth, and your oral health, tooth damage can also have a significant impact on the quality of your smile. We offer several different treatments that help to not only restore the functions of your teeth, but the beauty of your smile as well. These treatments include:
•  Dental bonding. Bonding using a tooth-colored composite resin material to teeth affected by minor damage.
•  Porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are another treatment for minor damage. They are thin, shell-like structures that cover over the surfaces of damaged teeth.
•  Ceramic crowns. Ceramic crowns are used to restore teeth affected by more significant damage. They prevent further damage and infections while restoring the appearance of the affected teeth.

Replacing Missing Teeth

Tooth loss is an issue that affects every part of your life. Eating becomes more challenging. When you cannot chew properly, your body cannot effectively absorb nutrients, which can lead to malnutrition. You may develop a lisp or have other difficulties speaking that can lead to miscommunication. Your teeth begin to shift out of alignment, which affects your bite. This can lead to issues such as bruxism and TMJ.

In addition to all of these issues, tooth loss has a significant impact on the quality of your smile. Even if you have lost a tooth at the back of your mouth, your smile can be affected over time as your teeth begin to shift out of alignment. We offer several treatments for replacing missing teeth, including:
•  Porcelain bridges. A porcelain bridge consists of a replacement tooth with a crown on each side. The crowns anchor the bridge in place using the healthy teeth on each side of the empty space.
•  Full and partial dentures. Full and partial dentures are removable replacement teeth. The dentures of today are made to look much more realistic than older styles of dentures.
•  Dental implants. Dental implants are a modern alternative to bridges and dentures. Implants use small titanium posts, which are surgically placed into your jawbone. The posts then become the roots that hold your ceramic restorations securely in place.

Brightening Your Smile

We can also enhance the beauty of your smile with teeth whitening. Discoloration can be caused by many factors, such as the foods you eat, lifestyle habits like smoking, and more. While discoloration might not affect your oral health, it can significantly impact the quality of your smile, leaving you feeling incredibly self-conscious.

We provide two options for teeth whitening. We can whiten your teeth in our office in one appointment taking only about an hour of your time. You can also whiten your teeth at home with whitening trays. With teeth whitening, we can restore the bright white color of your tooth enamel, enhancing the beauty of your smile and giving you back the confidence to show it off.

Dentistry is more than just helping you to maintain the health of your mouth, it is also about helping you to achieve and maintain a beautiful smile. For more information, and to schedule your appointment, call Keith A. Boenning, DDS today at (410) 828-1717.
