Many Situations Can Be Helped with Dental BondingMany people who have damaged their teeth may find themselves unable to afford costly repairs such as dental implants. The good news is that there are other, more affordable, options out there.

One such option is using dental bonding to repair the tooth. Fortunately, there are many situations where dental bonding can be used to repair a damaged tooth with little or no impact on the tooth's utility.

What is Dental Bonding?

Dental bonding is a substance that can be applied to a tooth to repair minor chips, cracks, and other similar damage. While dental bonding is not as durable as, for example, a dental implant, it is much more affordable. What's more, in certain situations, dental bonding is more than adequate to repair the tooth without the decreased durability being an issue.

In addition to being a more affordable option, dental bonding is much less invasive than dental implants. Whereas getting dental implants require surgery and multiple visits, dental bonding can often be applied in one visit, without the need for invasive surgical procedures.

Dental Bonding Can be a Good Choice

The question of whether dental bonding will be an adequate material to repair the tooth will depend on the location of the damage as well as the type of the damage. While it is not likely that dental bonding would be adequate to rebuild a tooth that has cracked in half, for example, it is more than enough to repair a minor crack or a chip.

Likewise, dental bonding might not be the best choice to repair the chewing surface of a molar, given the high stress levels of the area. However, a chip on the front of an incisor will usually be just fine with dental bonding.

So, if you are looking for an affordable and quick fix to your tooth, consider dental bonding. It may be exactly what you need.
